Childrens’ Ministry

Sunday School

Sunday School

Every Sunday, 10.30am - 11.30am in the church hall

Sunday School runs from September to May.

Children join the start of our service at 10:30am and then go to the Church Hall for a range of activities.

Our leaders and teachers would love for you to bring your children!

Sponsorship

One of Ballinderry’s mission partners is Operation Rescue Ethiopia and our Sunday school had supported this Christian charity in a practical way for many years. Each week the Sunday school children bring a small donation, and this goes towards helping children in Northern Tigray, Ethiopia. Currently there are three children being supported. This is a huge monthly commitment and if you would like to help by donating, please contact any of the Sunday school teachers directly. Your help would be greatly appreciated. The Sunday school children are not only encouraged to give some money weekly but as a Sunday school we pray regularly for the sponsor children. We love to receive regular updates from Tigray, and it is wonderful to share little letters and videos of the children we receive about their lives and even pictures and photographs of the homes they are living in.

Here is a great example of a boy the school has sponsored for many years, and the children have enjoyed following his journey. We celebrate what God has done is this boy’s life with the help of Operation Rescue, our sponsorship, and our prayers. His name is Misgana. Misgana has now finished school and remains in regular contact with Ballinderry friends. He no longer visits Operation Rescue for daily support but is in regular  contact and visits the local centre a lot, helping other children.  He has been able to start a small photography business making wedding videos and taking photos. His first camera was donated from Ballinderry, and the Sunday school loves to follow his progression.  Misgana plays in a music group in his local church and has helped form a more formal choir called Niftalem. Here is a link showing the choir and you can spot Misgana in the front row at the beginning. They regularly post on You Tube.

It’s Church, but not as you know it!

Every month thousands of people of all ages come together to discover Jesus, including those who’ve never been to church before.

In over 30 countries around the world, we eat, play and worship together. Expect activities, songs and prayers and an entirely new way to express your faith.

Messy Church started in Ballinderry in Summer 2024 and we aim to meet at least 4 times per year in our Church Hall.

Keep an eye on our Church Facebook page to hear about upcoming events
