For unto us a child is born

Advent and Christmas are fast approaching, so here is a reminder of our various services during this special time of the year.

On Sunday the 9th of December our Sunday School children take centre stage as they share the Christmas story with us in the morning service at 11.30am.  This is also the time when traditionally we bring presents to donate to the Salvation Army.  They in turn distribute these among families in the Lisburn area who are struggling financially.  If you would like to donate a gift, it would be much appreciated.  Gifts should be new, and please leave them unwrapped so that the Salvation Army can allocate them appropriately.

Then on Thursday the 13th we will once again welcome the children, parents and teachers of Ballinderry Primary School for our joint service.  This is a beautiful service open to parishioners and visitors alike.  So please feel free to come at 6.30pm and encourage the young people as they celebrate the birth of Jesus with us.

Next up, on the 16th, at 7pm, we hold our annual service of Nine Lessons and Carols in the parish church.  This reflective service marks the beginning of the Christmas season for many.  The story of the birth of Jesus is told through bible readings, Christmas carols and anthems.

On Sunday the 23rd at 7pm we have our Carols by Candlelight service in the Middle Church.  This simple service is a favourite for many, and always well attended.  So make sure you are there in good time to get a seat.  Also remember to wrap up warm!

Then on Christmas morning at 10am we will have a short family service followed by Holy Communion.  Please do come along on that day to celebrate the true Reason  for Christmas.  Children are welcome to bring some of the toys that Father Christmas left them!  You will be very welcome at this, or indeed any of our services
